KEY ART RETOUCHING AND COMPOSITING

 

One of my main responsibilities as the in house graphic designer at Trendy was to use screenshots and art assets provided by the art department to create marketing material for patches. Each patch or update to the game added features and content. The look and feel of an update’s marketing material was determined by the key art. Below is a gif of all the Photoshop layers used to create the Foundation Part I key art.

 

 
 
 

ASSETS PROVIDED

 

I collaborated with the art team for character positioning and a basic theme. I was then provided with a paint over of characters posed in the unreal engine and the original game logo. The background, some of the lighting and the mood were defined by the content of the patch and the marketing department. The additional text at the bottom of the logo labeling the patch was then created to fit with the theme.

 

 
 
 

KEY ART APPLICATIONS

 

After the key art for the patch was made it was applied to a variety of sizes for social media and Steam.
